Visiting circus performances during the New Year holidays has become a good tradition for Ashgabat’s children and guests of the capital. And the creative team of the Turkmen State Circus prepared a new show for its audience.

The program was opened by the main heroes of the New Year celebrations – Ayazbaba and Garpamyk, who congratulated the children and their parents on the New Year 2026, which in our country is being held under the motto “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the homeland of purposeful winged horses.”

According to circus tradition, the first to perform are always aerial gymnasts. Ailar Bibilova easily and freely performed the act “Yarganat” in the image of a bat on a ring, to the roll of the orchestra’s drums. The young gymnast is a pupil of Ashgabat Secondary School No. 19. She first rose under the circus dome last year thanks to her mentor, Selbi Shikhieva.

The soulful performance of the aerial gymnast was followed by the amusing act “In the Restaurant,” in which six charming monkeys appeared as waiters and visitors. With their funny grimaces, the tailed circus performers caused unanimous laughter from the audience.

A new act, “The Track,” was presented by a group of acrobats. The lineup of the group and the style of performance changed radically. Jumps resembling flights, multiple somersaults and flips were performed by the artists in the style of breakdance, which significantly enlivened the act and made it more interesting and spectacular. Halap Bayrammyradov was the lead performer.

And once again the drumroll of the orchestra – on the arena is Arslan Kuraev with a perch, a long pole used by tightrope walkers. Acrobats Ramazan Akmuradov, Elnar Mengalieva and Gurbannazar Annamyradov, despite their young age – the youngest is only four years old – easily climbed to the top and performed original but very risky tricks there.

Charming poodles trained by Elmira and Zaryana Goshaeva appeared with a new act, and the audience greeted them with warm applause.

In the act “Contortion,” three gymnasts amazed the audience with their truly rubber-like flexibility. This act is also called the “snake” act, because the girls presented to the audience the process of three little snakes hatching from eggs, who, having come into the world, immediately became friends and joyfully began to celebrate life together.

An intermission at the circus is additional happiness for children. At this time, there is a buzz like during a school recess.

There is lively sale of sparkling New Year souvenirs, and the bravest boys and girls line up to ride a horse and get unforgettable impressions. Quick and nimble kids do not miss the chance to take selfies with their favorite performers, among whom, of course, are the clowns Pena Myratdurdyev and Esber Ataberdiyev.

“Winged Horses” is the title of the second part of the circus program. The valiant horsemen of the National Equestrian Games Group “Galkynyş” are six-time laureates of the most prestigious international festivals of equestrian art. The world-famous “Galkynyş” Group is our national pride. A horse never goes backward – this contradicts its nature. But with Honored Horse Breeder of Turkmenistan Serdar Pygyev, the horse Dalamat not only does this, but also jumps rope together with the rider. The mastery of trick riding was demonstrated by all the horsemen during the performance – candles, pyramids, spins, juggling on the horse’s croup, and much more. Speed, courage and daring accompanied every act.

Among the mounted performers were newcomers, including the two youngest – Ramazan Akmuradov and Batyrkhan Pygyev, the grandson of People’s Horse Breeder of Turkmenistan Pygy Bayramdurdyyev.

The performance concluded with a parade-alle. All participants of the New Year celebration came out into the ring. Among them were Ayazbaba and Garpamyk on horseback, symbolizing the motto of the current year – “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the homeland of purposeful winged horses.”
