From April 24 to 26, in celebration of the National Day of the Turkmen Horse, theaters across the country have prepared a series of premieres aligned with the motto of the year: “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan — the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses.”

The new productions are based both on ancient legends of the “heavenly horses” and on philosophical reflections presented in the works of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, and the President Arkadagly Hero Serdar.

The Main Academic Drama Theater named after Saparmyrat Turkmenbashi the Great will present the play “Ak at”. The production by young director M. Jumabayev and People’s Artist of Turkmenistan G. Akmyradova reveals the deep symbolism of the image of the horse.

The National Music and Drama Theater named after Magtymguly invites audiences to the play “Atdyr ýigidiň myrady”, based on a play by G. Danatarov, which recreates episodes from the epic of Gorogly.

The National Drama Theater named after Alp Arslan will stage the production “Gyrat.”

The State Russian Drama Theater named after A. S. Pushkin invites audiences to the premiere of the play “Обгоняя ветер.”

The Mollanepes Student Theater will present the play “At sarpasy.”

The Turkmen State Puppet Theater has prepared the touching production “Asmandan inen ykbal”.

The State Drama Theater of Arkadag City named after Aman Gulmammedov will present the play “Argamaklar.”

Premieres will also take place in the theaters of the velayats.

The State Drama Theater of Balkan Velayat named after Saparmyrat Turkmenbashi the Great will present the play “Bedew rowaýaty”. The State Drama Theater of Mary Velayat named after Kemine will present the production “At göçümi.” The State Music and Drama Theater of Lebap Velayat named after S. Seydi will stage the premiere “At - myrat.” The State Music and Drama Theater of Dashoguz Velayat named after Nurmuhammet Andalib will present the play “Seýis,” which reveals the subtle secrets of the art of Turkmen horse breeding.

These and other cultural events organized during the festive days are intended to emphasize the global significance of the Akhal-Teke horses, the art of breeding which is included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
