On the 3rd of July, the exhibition «Child – the connection between generations» opened at the State museum of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan.
On display are jewellery of children, historical photographs, toys, dolls and bags for them, as well as wallets from the XIX - XX centuries, all stored in the collection of museum. The exhibition is complemented by national clothing for girls and boys: skillfully embroidered headdresses (tahyas), dresses, begres robes, shirts, agar-chakmens, and shoes.
Antique dresses, takhyas and dons of the children, preserving maternal love and tenderness, create a unique world of colours. The exhibition also features accessories of the children such as bows, belts, turbans, ankle bracelets, which were intended not only for decoration but also to ward off the evil eye, fan-shaped shoes, writing instruments, and more.
These exhibits clearly demonstrate the deep love for children in Turkmen culture, revealing the richness of ancient children's clothing and traditional accessories.
