So many people gathered at the concert hall of the «Ashgabat» culture and recreation park in the capital of Turkmenistan to participate in the interactive concert «Cipollino» from the «About Music. Children» series that they could not all fit in one session. And then Honoured Artist of Turkmenistan Vladimir Mkrtumov held two full concerts in a row.

The maestro once again broke the stereotype that academic concerts are boring. The music of Karen Khachaturian did not just sound, it literally spoke to the audience, transforming into the impudent Cipollino, the grumpy groom Pumpkin, and the pompous senor Tomato.

Instead of strict silence, the hall was filled with the living magic of co-creation. The children immediately got involved in the game: they solved musical riddles, recognised the characters by the first chords, and sincerely empathised with the characters in the fairy tale of Gianni Rodari. It was not just an audition, but a complete immersion into the story, where each child felt like part of a large musical team.

The holiday turned out to be not only inspiring, but also generous. At the end of each session, a pleasant surprise awaited the little guests – wonderful gifts from the «Ýüpekçi» company. The sparkling eyes of the young listeners, who went home with gifts and in high spirits, proved the most important thing: classical music is not boring, but a vibrant, joyful, and captivating world to which you want to return again and again.
