The artist who will represent Turkmenistan in the final of the Eurasia Star International Song Contest was announced during the national final round that took place in Ashgabat.
The Palace of Mukams of the magnificent architectural ensemble located at the picturesque foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains brought together fans of Turkmen music and the singers participating in this festival of music, talent and youth. Ten artists of 100 competitors participated in the final.
The jury consisted of People’s Artist of Turkmenistan Annaguly Muratdurdyev and People’s Artist of Turkmenistan Atageldy Karyagdiev and a Turkish singer Burak Kut.
This contest attracted artistic individualities and bright talents, and it was very difficult to choose the best one. Senior stage director and producer of this new interesting project Tayfun Dzincer said, “The main selection criterion is the singer’s voice, its power and tone and the ability to use it so that a singer could convey various feelings and emotions. Our contest is designed for young amateur musicians, and therefore this ability of young singers who have no professional knowledge to use the voice is of great value for the jury. Of course, contest participants should have the artistic skills. I’d like to emphasize that the national traditions are very strong in Turkmen youth education and this is that Turkmen singers are marked out for and adds amazing charm which contributes to the success. I think that the finalists brilliantly cope with their tasks. Let’s wait for the jury’s verdict”.
Three competitors reached the final. They were Atajan Berdyev with the song “Ashgabat”, Sohbet Kasymov with the song “You’ll Look at Me” and Nuryagdy Redjepov with the song “Beloved”. A fifth-year student of the Department of Theater Art of the Institute of Culture of Turkmenistan Sohbet Kasymov was announced the winner the national contest of the Eurasia Star Song Contest.
The winner is to work hard. He will represent Turkmenistan in the final of the international contest. Sohbet realizes that our country places great hope on him and he will apply every effort to live up to its expectations.
The international contest will open up the vast opportunities for the winner to develop his or her talent. He or she will win a huge audience and become its new idol – Eurasia Star.
