Yanlan, Diyarym! TV contest summed up
The popular Yanlan, Diyarym! Singing Contest picked up the button of the festive cultural events dedicated to the 20th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan. The gala concert of the musical and singing contest was performed on the stage of the Ashgabat Concert Centre in the National Park of Independence.
As is known, the main goal of the national contest is held each year in the framework of the Turkmenin Altyn Asyry Contest initiated by the President of Turkmenistan is to reveal young talents and serve as the springboard to the world of musical art. After the qualification rounds in the etraps and velayats finished, this art contest was concluded with the final round which took place in the Turkmen capital. According to the contest rules each competitor performs two songs. The jury consisting of renowned workers of culture and art judges the competitions using such criteria as the young artists’ vocal skills, mastery and originality of the performance and their ability to perform on the stage.
The national culture and art have been given new incentives to flourish in the epoch of new Revival and great changes due to the concern of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The centuries-old national musical traditions based on the lofty spiritual ideals, glorious history and happy life of the Turkmen people and harmoniously combined with the modern trends in the modern art of music and singing are reflected in the young artists’ creative activity.

Congratulating on the 20th anniversary of independence and wished new accomplishments the Turkmen leader called upon young artists to increase achievements of Turkmen music and art of singing and expressed belief that young artists deeply loved the national culture which reflects the glorious history of the Turkmen people and would spare no effort and talent to hand down mellifluous melodies of our ancient art rooted in the purest sources and filled with our people’s inspiration and wisdom to the generations to come.
Participants of the festive concert returned their bright, talented and original performances to the Turkmen leader’s appeal. The concert began with performing the song Yanlan, Diyarym! by all participants. The works by Turkmen composers and folk songs were sung by the young voices of the country glorifying the beloved Motherland, the Turkmen people, their centuries-old history, the beauty of nature and outstanding accomplishments of the new historical epoch – the great sources of inspiration. Original performances and modern arrangements of musical compositions charged numerous spectators with good mood and presented many minutes of joy to the audience, who rewarded young artists for their brilliant performances with the storm of applause.
The grand life-asserting finale of the music festival was the performance of the song Ilim Ajayip by all concert participants.
Then the ceremony of presenting special diplomas, monetary prizes and valuable presents on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan took place. On behalf of the leader of the Turkmen state every artist who had participated in the concert received the encouraging prize on that day. The fascinating song festival was broadcast on the national TV channels.
