The festive exhibitions are opened at museums throughout the country to mark to the 20th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan.
The expositions dedicated to the achievements our country has gained during the years of independence, particularly the history of Turkmen culture and arts, have the special place in the exhibition. Nowadays 35 museums, which serve as the heart of spiritual life of the society, custodians of the priceless heritage of the nation and leading research centres, are opened in the Turkmen capital and all regions of Turkmenistan. They play a crucial role in spiritual revival of the nation, preservation and promotion of the rich cultural heritage of our people. Through the support of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the new buildings of the local history museums in Mary, Dashoguz and Lebap have been opened in recent years. New museum will be opened in Balkan Velayat soon. The accomplishments of the present epoch are displayed along with historical finds in these cultural centres.
Numerous sections of the festive exhibition at the Main National Museum are dedicated to the development of all sectors of Turkmen economy as a result of the ongoing large-scale reforms. Photographs and documentary materials, production of various sectors of the national economy and books evidence the diversity of life of our people. The special sections are dedicated to the policy of peacefulness, good neighbourliness and wide international cooperation of the Turkmen state.
The works by renowned painters A. Kuliev, G. Bekmuradov, Ya. Bayramov and the others and the sculptors G. Yarmamedov, J. Jumadurdy, A.Hydyrov, M. Novikov, A. Shchetin and B. Esengeldiev are displayed at the Museum of Fine Arts. The glorious ancient history of the Turkmen nation, traditions and customs, national crafts and unique beauty of the Turkmen land are reflected in these works.
