The creative team of the National Music and Drama Theater. Makhtumkuli delighted his audience with the premiere of the comedy performance "Başagaýlyk" ("Confusion"), based on the play by Alexander Vampilov. The performance is about the fact that people should be judged by deeds and deeds, and not by their position.
The action takes place in a hotel room in the late 70s of the last century. Those viewers who caught these times plunged into the nostalgic atmosphere of their youth. However, the funny story that arose around the unknown word "metranpage" turned out to be interesting to the younger generation as well.
The comedic farce of this story is similar to an anecdote, which is why it was included in Vampilov's Two Anecdotes cycle from the life of Russian hotels. In the Confusion, the innkeeper, wanting to enjoy his powers, rudely treated one of the visitors. And then it turned out that this visitor was a meter page by profession. Who such a meter-page, no one knew. In all likelihood, this is a very high-ranking position. This assumption shocked the administrator! Ridiculous ways began to come to his mind that would help get out of a predicament. In fact, on the contrary, he became entangled in lies more and more.
Thanks to the director-producer, Honored Art Worker of Turkmenistan Ainazar Batyrov and artist Mekan Annamuradov, the spirit of that time was very accurately recreated. The austere interior of the hotel room was decorated with reproductions of "Morning in a Pine Forest" by I.I. Shishkin and "The Ninth Wave" by I. Aivazovsky, which caused a smile from the audience of the older generation, as an on-duty attribute of any public institution.
The costume designer Keyik Khodjaeva did an excellent job. She dressed the heroes of the play in the fashion of the seventies.
Disputes and unwillingness to understand each other often ended in brawls, in which the administrator (Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Atamurat Ataev) got the most from his wife (actress Maya Veligylydzhova) and the girl renting a hotel room (actress Gulnabat Abdullaeva). The administrator's friend (People's Artist of Turkmenistan Orazgeldy Amangeldiyev) clarified the confusion, explaining that the mezzanine is a typographical worker. In the final scene, the master-pager himself (actor Merdan Khandurdiev), who turned out to be a football fan, appeared and shared his joy at the victory of his favorite football team.
The musical accompaniment, selected by Akhmed Nurmammedov, filled the performance with cheerful enthusiasm. And extras with changing masks hinted at the duplicity of the protagonist.
The audience warmly welcomed the comedy, the meaning of which has not lost its relevance even today.
