As part of the Week of the Department of Composition, which started at the Turkmen National Conservatory named after M. Kulyyeva, a master class was held on the use of modern information technologies in musical activities.

Merdan Bashimov, a Turkmen composer and lecturer at the Kazan State Conservatory named after N.G. Zhiganov, shared his knowledge in this area. During the online meeting, students-composers got acquainted with the methods of mixing music, as well as various programs for creating compositions on a computer.

The department that educates professional composers has existed since the founding of the Turkmen National Conservatory. Over the years, prominent Turkmen composers such as Veli Muhatov, Nury Halmammedov, Chary Nurymov and many others taught here. Modern history has significantly expanded the list of names of the national composer school.

Currently, the Department is headed by the composer Kerimguly Garovov. And the subtleties of composing art are revealed to students by folk and honored artists of the country. Among them are People's Artist of Turkmenistan, composer, Associate Professor Bayramdurdy Hudaynazarov, People's Artist, Senior Lecturer of the Conservatory, composer Danatar Hydyrov, Honoured Worker of Culture, the first female composer, Associate Professor Jeren Gurbangylyjova, Honoured Artist of Turkmenistan Suhan Tuyliyev.

Teachers explain to young students that being a composer is not just writing notes, but creating new principles and strategies. In order to create freely, young composers master a number of musical disciplines: harmonica, composition, orchestration, harmony, polyphony, instrumentation, and so on.

Without music, it is difficult to imagine a performance, a motion picture, dance art and life itself in general. However, sometimes we forget that behind every harmonious melody is the intense and hard work of the composer.

Painters try to present composer's activity from the point of view of fine arts. Because of this, one of the accompanying events of the Week of the Department of Composition was an exhibition of pictures, paintings and graphics, which brought together the best works of artists of the country.
