Sunny Turkmenistan through the eyes of Polish artist Joanna Galecka is presented in all its glory at the Ashgabat Museum of Fine Arts. On August 3, a personal exhibition of a foreign guest was opened here in a solemn atmosphere.

This is not the first time that Joanna visits our country. And every time she is inspired by the original Turkmen culture, nature and people who live in different parts of our country. Therefore, all the paintings and graphic works presented at the exhibition were made while traveling and literally on the move.

In her welcoming speech, the artist noted:

– I am very glad to visit Turkmenistan again. When I first came here and saw beautiful women in multicolored scarves, I realized that painting people would become my main topic. Your oriental bazaar "tolkuchka" is my most important inspiration. I often painted there, met interesting people. They were very open, hospitable, treated me, read poetry. My paintings, which I am currently exhibiting, were brought from a tour of the city of Halach.

The trip to the Lebap velayat was memorable for Joanna with colorful images of daikhan, visits to melon markets, nature. Havinga special love for animals, the artist depicted camels, sheep, donkeys, as well as picturesque landscapes of cultivated fields and much more in her works.

Most of the presented paintings are made with pastel crayons on colored paper. Impressive works capture the viewer's attention with their brightness and accuracy of image transmission.

– This is a very interesting exhibition, if only because in each painting we can recognize our everyday life and atmosphere, – explains Natalia Kalugina, a member of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan. – The ambiguity of the shadows is conveyed as if these pictures were taken on a modern digital camera. However, this is a painted artistic creation, that is why it is beautiful.

The exhibition of paintings by Polish artist Joanna Galecka will last at the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan until August 5. Admission to the exhibition is free.
