Cooperation of TV journalists of Turkey and Turkmenistan

The State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography and the representative office of the Turkish State Television and Radio Company in Turkmenistan held an event dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence and the approaching 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey in the Ashgabat cinema in the capital.

Ugur Sami Gezer, head of the TRT representative office in Ashgabat, opened the meeting and spoke about the special importance attached in Turkey to cooperation with Turkmenistan due to the common historical and cultural roots of the peoples of the two countries, as well as how TRT through its channels contributes to the dissemination of reliable information about the politics, economy, culture and traditions of the Turkmen people in the world.

The demonstrated video about the activities of TRT gave an idea of the breadth of the international audience coverage of this TV and radio company, which over several decades has turned into a conglomerate of several TV channels, radio stations and Internet platforms for the distribution of diverse content in 41 languages of the world.

A separate video was dedicated to the TRT Avaz TV channel launched in 2009, broadcasting to the Balkans, Central Asia, the Middle East and the Caucasus.

The channel, which operates under the motto "Unity in Language, Thought and Work", broadcasts documentaries, talk shows, cultural and musical programs, regional films and series.

Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography Annasakhet Kakaev noted in his speech that Turkmenistan attaches special importance to the development of international cooperation in the field of television and radio broadcasting and cinematography, including with TRT.

The legal basis of international cooperation is being strengthened, participation in various events promoting the exchange of experience and improving the work of Turkmen TV and radio journalists, cinematographers is expanding.

A vivid evidence of these positive processes was the successful holding of the first international film festival " Dawn of Arkadag " in Turkmenistan.

The director of the Department of External Relations of TRT Mustafa Sarytash, who spoke afterwards, characterized the international activities of the Turkish TV and radio company, whose representation in Ashgabat was the first in Central Asia.

A vivid illustration of the fruitfulness of the Turkmen-Turkish cooperation was the demonstration of two short documentaries produced by TRT about the unique historical monuments of Kunya-Urgench and Ancient Merv, included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
