The state music festival devoted to the 85th birthday anniversary of Turkmen composer Nury Khalmammedov was opened under such title. The opening of the festival with sold-out notice took place on the stage of the National Music and Drama Theatre named after Makhtumkuli.

In the hall - composers, musicologists, students and teachers of Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kulieva and capital schools of art, representatives of mass media as well as numerous admirers of talent of Nury Khalmammedov.
The festival started with the song-hymn “Independent Turkmenistan” by Danatar Khydyrov, which served a unique prelude to the concert.
The quartet of vocalists accompanied by the Turkmen State Chorus and Symphonic Orchestra of the Conservatory with inspiration and solemnly performed the exciting pathetic work.

The program of the festival included performances of those, who knew Nury Khalmammedov. Among them - Meret Annamyradov, national artist of Turkmenistan Saragt Babayev, national actors of Turkmenistan Danatar Khydyrov and Atageldi Garyagdyev, honoured worker of culture of Turkmenistan Bilbil Mamedov.
They shared their memories on the great Turkmen composer with the present at the hall. The concert was over with the patriotic song of Jemal Reyimova “Long live Turkmenistan!”
National actor of Turkmenistan Atajan Berdiyev and honoured actress of Turkmenistan Leyli Okdirova performed a solo with the State Chorus and Symphonic Orchestra.

The festival’s "baton" is transferred to the State Symphonic Orchestra of Turkmenistan conducted by Rasul Klychev, who will meet the audience in the Mukam Palace.
