An exhibition of works by Turkmen artists has been launched at the State Museum of Fine Arts. It should be noted that the personality of Nury Halmamedov is so significant, his talent, character and charisma are so attractive that few artists have not dreamed of depicting the outstanding composer in their works.

Perhaps the most important piece of the exhibition is the sculptural statue "Composer Nury Halmamedov" – the thesis of the now outstanding sculptor Saragt Babayev. During the exhibition, the sculpture was transferred to the museum from the gallery of the Academy of Arts. The sculptural image depicts a human-sized composer with a pensive face, despite the wind blowing the tails of his coat.

The organizers of the exhibition managed to combine in paintings and sculptures everything that Nury Halmamedov lived, which was dear to his heart and brought him joy. At the exhibition, one can find portraits of composers whose works he used to study music – Aman Agajikov and Danatar Ovezov. There are also portraits of the writer Berdy Kerbabaev and the film director Alty Garlyev, with whom he worked on the music for the film "The Decisive Step".

However, most of the paintings and sculptures are dedicated to the strong friendship of the greatest composer with another invaluable son of the Turkmen people – the poet Gurbannazar Ezizov. Here they are walking together along the autumn alley in the painting by Tachmukhammet Mehtiyev, which one would like to call "Autumn Duet of Two Geniuses". Perhaps, it was during such walks that Nury Halmamedov's songs were born to the words of Kurbannazar Ezizov.

Soon a third friend appeared in a friendly tandem – singer Atageldy Garyagdiev. The exhibition presents several portraits of him. Somewhere he is young, and he is nearby, but more often he is alone, because he lost his precious friends early. He performs their works throughout his rich artistic life, so he is represented at the exhibition at different ages.

Berdyguly Amansakhetov presented an interesting picture, depicting a cornucopia over the keys of the composer's piano. Nury Halmamedov created so much beautiful music that it gives the impression that it was given to him easily, flowed by itself. However, Mamed Mamedov's painting "Composer Nury Halmamedov" reveals the process of experiencing the delivery of another masterpiece to the members of the commission. Nury Halmamedov, out of excitement, presses his cheek against a mulberry tree, which is as stout, rebellious and charismatic as it looks.

Mamed Mamedov depicted the composer in a bright red shirt. The composer was also dressed in red – the color of passion – by other artists: Abdulla Abdullayev, Yarly Bayramov.

The expressive face of Nury Halmamedov – big eyes, lush curly hair, sharply defined cheekbones – stared intently at the exhibition from the many busts created by artists from bronze, wood and plaster.

Years will pass, and when the museum celebrates the next anniversaries of the great composer, young Turkmen artists will create new works inspired by the aspiring, stormy music of Nury Halmamedov.
