At the competition site of the VII Moscow International Arts Festival «Sounds of Dutar» named after Nury Halmammedov, held this year under the auspices of the celebration of the 85th anniversary of the outstanding Turkmen composer, the children’s a cappella ensemble «Joshgun» performed a medley of the most famous melodies and songs.
Young talents presented to the public the work of Johann Bach «Scherzo» («Joke») from the «Suite for Flute and String Orchestra», «Aina's Lullaby» by Nura Halmammedov from the film «The Decisive Step», the song «Bagtyýar biz, bagtyýar! » Kerim Jumagulyyev (lyrics by A. Shagulyyev), children's song «Baby Shark» by R. Davis.
For composing and arranging music in ethnocultural traditions, the director of the children's a cappella ensemble «Joshgun» Kerim Jumagulyyev was awarded a Special Diploma of the competition.
Art director of the Moscow International Arts Festival named after Nury Halmammedov, composer, pianist, public figure, Chairman of the Turkmen regional branch of the Union of Eurasian Composers, member of the Composers Guild of the Russian Musical Union Mammet Guseynov noted the high professional training of the director K. G. Jumagulyyev and the involvement of the children in the creative process.
Having wished all members of the ensemble new creative achievements, Mammet Guseynov thanked the head of the ensemble for his great contribution to the development of choral music in Turkmenistan and the training of vocalists that meets modern requirements and new technologies.
Created just six months ago on the initiative of the director of the Specialized Music Boarding School at the Turkmen National Conservatory named after M. Kuliyeva, People's Artist of Turkmenistan, honourary elder of the country Berdinyyaz Berdinyyazov, the children's creative group successfully debuted within the walls of their native school.
Today «Joshgun» takes an active part in cultural events in the country.
The leader of the choral group is a young composer, laureate of international competitions, member of the Union of Composers of Eurasia, teacher of the Music Theory department, Kerim Jumagulyyev, who is creating original arrangements for all compositions.
The group's repertoire includes a cappella arrangements of songs by Turkmen composers, works by classics of world musical culture, and modern popular children's hits. The ensemble members perform songs in three languages: Turkmen, English and Russian.
