At the National Music and Drama Theatre named after Magtymguly hosted the world premiere of the Concert for voice and large orchestra «Heavenly and Sea Whispers», which was a huge success among listeners.

Why was the premiere called world premiere? Because the new work of the French composer Pierre Tillois was performed by the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan under the direction of Resul Gylyjov, with soprano from Germany Neima Fischer as the solo vocalist.

The audience that gathered in the theater that evening was incredibly lucky - they turned out to be the first listeners to the work «Heavenly and Sea Whispers». The musicians of the symphony orchestra were also lucky - they became its first performers.

The participation of the three countries was also reflected in the composition of the concert program, which, in addition to the premiere, included the best works of Nury Halmammedov, Ludwig van Beethoven and Camille Saint-Saens, i.e. Turkmen, German and French composers.

The basis of the Concert «Heavenly and Sea Whispers» was Pierre Tillois’s impressions from a trip to Turkmenistan, which he made this summer. He dedicated this work to the beautiful Ahal-Teke horses, which, according to legend, rushed like a whisper between heaven and earth. Pierre Tillois, as a tribute to Nury Halmammedov, included in his work an arrangement of «Lullaby» by the Turkmen composer, as well as an arrangement of the Turkmen folk song «Lale». The light, original style of sounds, where the laconic beats of horses' hooves, maternal tenderness, warmth and tranquility of the Turkmen steppes were heard, was accompanied by the crystal chime of Neima Fischer's vocalization.

Composer Pierre Tillois, conductor Resul Gylyjov and singer Neima Fischer came out to bow to the audience to thunderous applause. With bouquets of flowers and friendly, incessant applause, the audience expressed their attitude towards the work of the French composer. In addition, the audience liked the unusual voice of the German vocalist so much that Neima Fischer performed two more works as an encore - a fragment from the opera «The Tales of Hoffmann» by Jacques Offenbach and «Cranes» by Nura Halmammedov.

Immediately after the premiere, Pierre Tillois was surrounded by correspondents and a small press conference was held. Congratulating the French composer on his great success, the journalists recalled that in the summer he promised to complete work on the work by November and fulfilled his promise. According to his idea, it was supposed to be something between the Three Musketeers and the epic «Gorkut Ata». Therefore, everyone expected an adventure musical piece, but what they got was a lyrical one.

«Both the musketeers and the heroes of the Turkmen epics could not imagine their lives without horses», Pierre explained. «And if Dumas had seen «Ahal-Teke» horses, he would definitely have mounted his musketeers on them. Therefore, I dedicated my work to the «Ahal-Teke» horses, and in order to admire their beauty I resorted to lyrics.

It remains to add that this musical project was carried out thanks to the Franco-German Cultural Foundation.
