And here is a group of actors with flags of Azerbaijan, among them the chief director of the Shusha State Music and Drama Theatre of the Republic of Azerbaijan Lagman Kerimov, who gave an interview for our newspaper with great pleasure:
– This is my third time coming to Ashgabat, and each time I am amazed at its grandiose changes. You have a wonderful city and kind people who know how to organize a hospitable reception. We brought to the festival the play «Edelweiss or are you always with me» by playwright Elyas Effendiyev. This story is about a young girl who fell in love with an older man.
Of course, we expect to impress the festival participants with our performance. And at the same time, we want to learn something from other theater groups. After all, this is the meaning of festivals. And at the same time, the theater festival is a holiday for those who dedicated their lives to the stage. During the opening ceremony we have already plunged headlong into the festive atmosphere.
Together with all the festival participants, we hurried to the facade of the Main Theatre, where a theatrical performance with the participation of Oguz Han and his sons began, and on the way we met the director of the music and drama theater of the Horezm region of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Otabek Yakubov.
«We will perform at the festival with the play «Shasenem and Garyp». This legend is well known and loved among all Turkic-speaking peoples, and each nation has its own variation of the ancient legend. Therefore, we believe that our version will be of interest to the Turkmen audience and all participants of the festival. The Uzbek people are very close in spirituality to the Turkmen people and finding small differences in the legend will be interesting for them.
And at this time, white doves were released in front of the Main Theatre of Turkmenistan - a symbol of friendship and peace among all people on the planet. They soared beautifully in the air above the heads of the festival participants, as if uniting them into one friendly creative family.
