The full-length film "Daragt" by Turkmen film director Sahysalykh Bayramov will be presented as part of the competition program of the XXIX Minsk International Film Festival "Listapad", which will take place from November 17 to 24.
The film tells the fate of a simple Turkmen family. The main character Nyazik, who sent her husband to the front during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, continues to wait and believe that he will return many years later. An apricot tree blooms and bears fruit in the yard of her house, once planted by the newlyweds. And this tree, which delights the eye every spring, remains for Nyazik an eternal memory of her spouse.
The film incorporates the aesthetics of past years and fictional stories collected and recorded from eyewitness accounts. The audience has received Sahysalykh Bayramov's new film well, which premiered in our country in May this year.
At the International Film Festival venue, the competitive screening of the film "Daragt" will take place on November 22 at the Central Cinema in Minsk.
In addition to the Oguzhan Turkmenfilm Association, the XXIX Minsk International Film Festival "Listapad" will be attended by film studios from China, India, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey, Pakistan, Uzbekistan and a number of other countries. The jury panel will evaluate the films in five categories. The winning film will close the festival.
It is worth noting that last year, two creative works by Turkmen cinematographers were presented in the non-competitive program of the Listapad Film Festival. These include the feature film "Durmuş Kyssalary" directed by Arslan Eyeberdyev and the documentary film "Dutaryň owazy".
