The artworks created in the early 20th century have not lost their magnificence to this day. The State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan has organized an exhibition, where paintings from the museum's reserves dating back to the last century are being presented for the first time. The exhibition begins with canonical works by the national artist of Turkmenistan, Aikhan Khajiev, titled "Portrait of Magtymguly" and "Portrait of Dovletmammet Azadi."
The artist-designer Konstantin Mishin, working at the Trans-Caspian Museum in the early 20th century, transferred the beauty of Turkmen nature onto canvas. Despite the fact that some of his works are now 120 years old, their colors do not fade and impress with a play of multiple shades. The artist's landscapes glorify the nature of the homeland, corners of native land, mountain peaks and picturesque valleys are pleasant to his soul.
The exhibition also presents the works of artists N.B.Terpsikhorov (1890-1960), K.A.Vyalov (1900-1976), who traveled to our country in the 1930s and conveyed on their canvases the everyday life of a working man. Ivan Cherinko (1908-1948) made a significant contribution to the development of fine arts. His painting "Cotton Pickers" portrays a bright image of a hardworking Turkmen woman in the vast cotton field.

Reviewing the works of the Turkmen fine arts of the 20th century, which have become part of the golden fund of culture, it can confidently be said that several unique and talented masters emerged during that time. Among them are Sergey Beglyarov (1898-1949), Izzat Klychev (1923-2006), Yakup Annanurov (1916-2002), and Kulnazar Begmyradov (1934-2016). The artworks created by these artists noticeably enliven the exhibition. Almost all of them feature vibrant color transitions that are characteristic of Turkmen fine arts.
The painting "Sultan Sanjar's Entry to Merv" by artist Aman Amangeldyev (1930-2019) sheds light on a glorious page in the history of the Turkmen people. The exhibition also displays works by foreign artists from the storage of the Presidential Museum, including works by Franz Rubo, A. Sorokin, I.P. Rubinsky. There are also sculptural works by A. Shchetinin (1926-2001), J. Jumadurdyev (1937-1999), M. Nurymov (1941-1990), B. Jumaev (1953). In total, the exhibition presents about 70 palottes and 10 sculptural works.
The exhibition will be open until November 30 this year.
