The Publishing and Printing Vocational School of the State Publishing Service of Turkmenistan hosted an event dedicated to the motto of this year, "The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi" and the election of the city of Anev as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World-2024.

A creative meeting was organized for the students with the participation of famous figures of culture and art, representatives of science and the National Department of Turkmenistan for the Protection, Study and Restoration of Historical and Cultural Monuments. The guests of the educational institution shared with the students the significant events of the current year and the ongoing work to preserve and popularize the historical and cultural heritage of the Turkmen people.

As known, at the end of 2023, certificates were ceremoniously presented in Turkmenistan, confirming the inclusion of the "Great Silk Road: Zarafshan-Karakum Corridor" and the multinational nomination "Cold Winter Deserts of Turan" in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition, an extensive cultural program of events is being prepared as part of the "Anev is the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2024" year.

"It is particularly noteworthy that the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) declared the year 2024 as the 'Year of the Great Poet and Thinker of the Turkic World - Magtymguly Fragi'. Today, our country is hosting numerous events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great classic of Turkmen literature. In order for our students to fully grasp the image of this outstanding poet and thinker, we have prepared an exhibition of portraits of Magtymguly and invited art experts and artists for a dialogue", says teacher Jennet Karanova.

Honored Art Worker of Turkmenistan Saparmammet Meredov shared with the youth the intricacies of painting portraits of Magtymguly Fragi. At different times, artists have attempted to recreate the image of the classic, imbuing their interpretation into the depiction. However, the canonical portrait recognized is the work of the People's Artist of Turkmenistan Ayhan Hajyev. The centenary jubilee of the artist will be widely celebrated in our country in April. 

A harmonious addition to the creative meeting was the performance of Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Batyr Charyev, who opened his poetic monologue with the poem of the Hero-Arkadag "The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi". 

At the end of the event, a representative of the National Department of Turkmenistan for the Protection, Study and Restoration of Historical and Cultural Monuments presented the first edition of the international scientific collection "Asyrlaryň yzlary" ("Traces of Centuries") as a gift to the library of the Publishing and Printing Vocational School.
