A series of cultural and other events are being held in Lebap velayat on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi, the great thinker of the East. Regular trips are organized to the Idris Baba Madrasa located in the village of Magtymguly (formerly Gyzylayak).
In the 17th century, the legendary Niyazguly Khalypa taught at this madrasa and was highly popular among the population. It is not surprising that the poet Magtymguly Fragi passed through this madrasa for further knowledge.
The road leading to this historical monument is being reconstructed today in connection with the events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great master. The Turkmenabat-Kerki highway has been put into operation. The construction works of this road, which is 6,570 meters long and 7 meters wide, are being carried out by the builders of the Lebap Construction and Repair Production Company "Lebap Roads".
Currently, the old road surface is being removed and new asphalt is being laid. The work of more than 10 machines in road construction, the meticulous labor of the workers, as well as the full provision of necessary resources for construction, indicate that the project will be completed in the near future.
