Turkmenistan prepares to hold festive events and celebrations in March this year

Deputy Chairperson of the Cabinet of Ministers M. Mammedova, during the government meeting via video link, spoke about the Procedure for conducting the major events scheduled for March and celebrations on the occasion of the opening of social facilities.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, various conferences, meetings, media forums, explanatory and propaganda campaigns, exhibitions, music festivals, excursions, as well as summarizing of the results of previously announced creative contests are planned for the upcoming month. There will be screenings of films and documentaries dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi and the proclamation of the city of Anev as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024. Festive events and celebrations will be organized on the occasion of International Women's Day, which is widely celebrated in our country. Celebrations will take place in the festive squares in front of the "Türkmeniň ak öýi" in the velayats and in the city of Arkadag, as well as in the "Nowruz ýaýlasy" on the occasion of the National Spring Holiday.

In addition, it is envisaged to hold an International Conference on "Basic Directions and Potential of Tourism Development in Turkmenistan". It is also planned to organize a press conference "Turkmen Land - Center of Ancient Cultures" with the participation of representatives of foreign media.

Mammedova paid special attention to the organization of celebrations related to the start of events on the occasion of declaring of Anev as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024.

A series of events involving representatives of Turkic peoples are planned as part of the celebrations: a concert, an exhibition of works of fine and applied arts, works of photographers, an International Scientific Conference, as well as a conference of directors of state and national museums of TURKSOY member countries. Along with this, there will also be a press conference with the participation of representatives of foreign media.

Having heard the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the city of Anew has an ancient history that is closely connected with the glorious past of our people. In this regard, the head of state instructed to ensure a high level of organization in the preparation and conduct of international events dedicated to the proclamation of Anev as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024.
