The Society of Turkmen Culture in St. Petersburg "Mekan", together with the "Anima" Education Center, with the support of the St. Petersburg House of Nationalities and the Government of St. Petersburg, organized an interactive event called "Turkmenistan. The Great Legacy of Magtymguly Fragi" on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker of the East, Magtymguly Fragi.

An extensive exhibition of paintings, decorative and applied arts, and books by the Hero-Arkadag was presented in the Marble Hall of the Russian Ethnographic Museum. Turkmen youth, activists of the Turkmen Student Council in St. Petersburg "Bagtyarlyk", actively participated in the event.

Nurgeldi Seyidov, leader of the Society of Turkmen Culture in St. Petersburg "Mekan", welcomed the guests of the meeting and expressed gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov for their constant support and assistance in implementing international projects aimed at strengthening interethnic friendship and cooperation between Turkmenistan and St. Petersburg.

One of the highly anticipated events of 2024, which will take place in Turkmenistan under the motto "The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi," is the opening of a monument to Magtymguly Fragi in the center of the Northern capital of Russia. This will be a new milestone in the shared history.

Evgeny Grigoriev, Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg, emphasized in his speech the special role of Magtymguly Fragi's poetry - its humanistic and patriotic orientation, invaluable wisdom and remarkable relevance to the modern world, making it a legacy not only of Turkmen but also of world culture.

The event continued with musical and singing performances and dance numbers. A colorful and memorable part of the meeting was the fashion show of designer costumes and the presentation of traditional Turkmen bridal attire.
