An international scientific and methodological conference dedicated to the life and work of Magtymguly Fragi was held at Yerevan State University

On March 11, 2024, as part of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the outstanding classic of Turkmen literature Magtymguly Fragi, an International scientific and methodological conference and literary readings dedicated to the life and work of Magtymguly Fragi were held at Yerevan State University. Representatives of the country's diplomatic corps accredited in Armenia, students and professors of Yerevan State University, literary scholars, cultural and artistic figures of Armenia took part in the conference.

The rector of Yerevan State University Hovhannes Hovhannisyan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Armenia M.Ayazov addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech.

Presentations were made by the head of the Department of Turkic Studies of Yerevan State University A.Safaryan, the head of the Department of Turkmen Language of the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly G.Gurbanova, former Ambassador of Armenia to Turkmenistan A.Grigoryan.

Poet-translator V.Hasturu gave a creative speech to the audience, who recited one of his translations of the Turkmen classic in Armenian “Gözel sen”, then People’s Artist of Armenia, radio presenter M.Grigoryan also read the poem of the great Magtymguly “Kyly-kal bolar” in Armenian.

The conference was concluded with a recitation by students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of translations of Magtymguly’s poems from postcards, which were presented to all participants of the creative forum.
