As part of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the outstanding Turkmen classical poet Magtymguly Fragi, a creative festival of the country’s universities «Pähim-paýhas ummany Magtymguly Pyragy» was held on the 19th of March in Ashgabat.
The event was organized by the Central Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly, the Ministries of Education and Culture of Turkmenistan in accordance with the instructions of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the importance of holding competitions among young people related to the life and work of Magtymguly.
The main goal of the festival is an in-depth study of the creative heritage of the great poet and thinker, educating the country's younger generation in the spirit of patriotism, humanism, unity and other moral values expressed in his poetry, stimulating the creative activity of youth.
At the festival, representatives of various universities of the country talked about how the artistic image of Magtymguly Fragi is described in the works of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag, demonstrated artistic reading of the poems of the poet-sage and presented theatrical performances of some events from them, performed folk songs based on the poems of Magtymguly, and young poets read their own poems dedicated to the great son of the Turkmen people.
Literary and musical compositions performed by young talents in honour of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi, who passionately dreamed of an independent and prosperous Fatherland, which has now become a reality, were greeted with enthusiasm by all participants of the creative festival.
