On the 30th of March, at the Turkmen National Conservatory (TNC) named after Maya Kulyyeva, a recording for the Miras TV channel took place of a program dedicated to the 165th anniversary of the Turkmen dutarist and performer Hally Bagshy.
This is one of the most prominent representatives of the brilliant galaxy of Turkmen bagshy, who, according to Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, constitute the pride and glory of traditional national music. With the inclusion of the Turkmen national skill of making the dutar and the art of playing it accompanied by singing into the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage, the creativity of bagshy became the property of all humanity.
Their songs based on the words of Magtymguly, Seydi, Zelili, Kemine, Mollanepes, Mataji, Marygush, Katibi and other classics have preserved the inextricable connection of generations, reaching the present day in their original form. In his memoirs, the people's bagshy of Turkmenistan, Sahy Jepbarov, noted that his mentor Hally bagshy was one of the students of the famous Durdy bagshy, whose song «Ak yuzli Maralym» is considered a model of performing skills for all bagshy.
Professor of TNC, People's Artist of Turkmenistan Yolaman Nurymov, Doctor of Art History, Honoured Artist of Turkmenistan Charyyar Jumayev and senior researcher at the music-ethnographic laboratory of the conservatory Atageldi Mammetgulyyev spoke about this and interesting facts related to the life and creative path of Hally Bagshy.
Turkmen folk songs from his repertoire became a musical illustration of Hally bagshy creativity: «Çäre ýokdur» performed by the Honoured Cultural Worker of Turkmenistan Rejepdurdy Begenchev, «Hal iki ýandan» performed by the folk bagshy of Turkmenistan Shemshat Hojayeva, «Amman-amman» performed by the honoured bagshy of Turkmenistan Merdanguly Bayramov, «Babajyklar» performed by Magtymguly Magtymgulyyev and «Elden gider» performed by conservatory student Merdan Bayramgeldiyev. The concert part of the program also featured original songs «Şanly baýram-toýy Magtymgulynyň» and «Bagşy sen» performed by a teacher of the Turkmen State Special Music School named after Danatar Ovezov at TNC Meylis Gochmyradov.
