A concert program dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen literary classic and Eastern thinker Magtymguly Fragi will be held at the Museum and Exhibition Complex of the Russian Academy of Arts with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation.
According to the Organizing Committee of the 8th Moscow International Festival of Arts "Sounds of Dutar" named after Nury Halmamedov, the concert program will feature cultural and artistic figures of the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan.
The program will include masterpieces of world classics by N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, E. di Capua, M. Ravel, D. Ovezov, A. Pahmutova, N. Halmamedov, Ch. Nurymov, K. Volkov, and M. Guseynov. There will be also performed vocal compositions based on the poems of Magtymguly, Mollanepes, Khaji Kakaliev, Ata Atajanov, Nikolay Dobronravov, Giovanni Capurro, Andrey Dementyev, Charles Baudelaire, Tristan Klingzor, and Mikhail Lermontov.
Daria Guseynova, an artist of the Helikon Opera Theater, will perform the mono-opera "Monologues of Magtymguly Fragi" composed by Mamed Guseynov.
This large-scale vocal-instrumental work for soprano, cello and orchestra (arranged for piano) consists of five parts based on Magtymguly Fragi’s poems "Call", "Beginnings", "Sorrow", "Truth", "Good and Evil", focusing on the poet's philosophical revelations about human life, destiny and spiritual-moral aspirations.
According to Mamed Guseynov, composer and Art Director of the Moscow International Festival of Arts, it is a great joy for him that this year's "Sounds of Dutar" festival is dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly. A series of contests aimed at popularizing the literary legacy of the great Turkmen poet have been launched in honor of this significant date.
- The organizing committee of the Festival receives many messages from our future contestants asking where to buy collections of Magtymguly's poems to prepare," Mamed Guseynov said. - Our partners from the Russian State Library note that orders for editions of Magtymguly's poems have increased in recent weeks. This is a good trend.
The concert dedication "Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi" will take place in Moscow on April 7 at 16:00.
