President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, at a government meeting via video link, spoke about the significant events that will take place in the country in May 2024.

The head of state noted that the results of the work carried out over the four months of this year in the independent Fatherland demonstrate the success of the programs being implemented. Thus, during the period under review, the GDP growth rate was 6.3 percent. This indicator in the industrial sector reached 3.7 percent, in the transport and communications sector - 7.2 percent, in the service sector - 8 percent, in the shopping complex - 8.2 percent, in construction - 5.8 percent, in agriculture - 5 percent.

As emphasized, the country continues to build large industrial and social facilities, including new villages, residential buildings, entertainment and health centers, schools, kindergartens and other structures.

This month of the year «The Fount of the Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi» will host opening ceremonies of numerous objects and a number of international events, the head of state continued. Among the upcoming main celebrations are the international forum dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Eastern philosopher and classical poet Magtymguly Fragi and the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Pähim-paýhas ummany Magtymguly Pyragy». In this context, instructions were given to ensure a high level of holding upcoming events.

In the near future, summer holidays for schoolchildren and labour holidays for citizens are coming, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, instructing all responsible managers to properly approach the work of preparing holiday destinations for the summer season, in particular hotels, entertainment and health centres in Avaza, sanatoriums, children's recreation centres in the velayats and the city of Ashgabat.
