It has become a good tradition for the Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Vladimir Mkrtumov to go on a tour around the republic before his concert in the capital. This year is special. The tour will start with the new School of Arts in Arkadag. On May 17, the maestro will be waiting for everyone who wants to listen to a concert of works by Frederic Chopin in the hall of this school. Admission is free.
- What works are included in the concert program? - we asked Vladimir Sergeevich.
- I have long intended to perform a program with two Chopin sonatas, - the famous pianist answers. – But only two sonatas are not enough for a concert program. I have beautiful polonaises, waltzes and Chopin's preludes in my repertoire, but they can distract attention from the main works - the Second and Third Sonatas. I decided to perform two nocturnes before the Second Sonata. But what to play before the Third?
- How did you get out of this situation?
- An associate professor at the Moscow Conservatory helped me. I turned to Yakov Katsnelson with this problem, and he immediately found a solution: "Why complicate the program! Play two more nocturnes, and that will be enough." Brilliant, and how did I not think of that myself... That is what a professional view from the outside means!
- Vladimir Sergeevich, why did you choose Chopin, since he doesn't have an anniversary?
- Often musicians choose music for programs due to the need to play it, to convey to the listener the emotions they experience while performing this music.
- You will start the tour with students of the music school in Arkadag, where will you go next?
- The next concert is intended for students of the Mary School of Arts (May 19) and on the same day we will meet with students of the Lebap School of Arts. Admission to these concerts is free for everyone.
Then a concert for the capital audience, which will take place on May 22 in the concert hall of the Ashgabat Park of Culture and Recreation (First Park).
