On the eve of Turkmen Carpet Day, a national holiday celebrated annually on the last Sunday of May, employees of the historical and local history museum of the city of Arkadag, together with the Arkadag TV channel, held a music and song event - «Dünýä waspy dolan türkmen halysy».
The festive meeting was attended by workers from the Baherden and Ashgabat carpet enterprises of the state association «Türkmenhaly», who spoke about the intricacies of making world-famous hand-made carpets. The information from the museum staff about the unique carpets from their collection also aroused particular interest among the exhibition participants. The most interesting exhibits from the museum's collections were actually presented at the exhibition organized here. Among them, a special place was given to carpets, reflecting examples of national culture in their ornaments.
The exhibition also featured books by Hero-Arkadag about the unique national art of carpet weaving, included in the UNESCO list of intangible heritage of humanity. Samples of national clothing presented, including skillfully embroidered kurtas, jewelry, ceramic dishes and jugs, paintings, dutars and other national valuables give an idea of the diversity, richness and originality of Turkmen culture. Performances by bagshy and musicians from the country contributed to the festive atmosphere of the meeting.
