A presentation of a new book took place in Ukraine in honor of the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi

On May 22, 2024, at the National Library of Ukraine for children, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine organized a presentation of the new publication of «Маґтимґули Пираґи. 300 рокiв З дня народження. Одкровення». About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.  

The event was attended by the executives and staff of the diplomatic missions accredited in Ukraine, poets, writers, translators, publishers, journalists, managers and representatives of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kyiv city state administration, higher educational institutions, libraries from different cities of Ukraine, operating companies in Turkmenistan as well as Turkmen youth.

During the meeting was held a press conference, where it was noted that the complete collection of translations into Ukrainian is a very valuable contribution to the study and popularization of the literary heritage of Magtymguly Fragi. In addition, the Turkmen side emphasized that the construction of a sculpture of the outstanding Ukrainian philosopher and poet Grigory Skovoroda in the Magtymguly Fragi cultural and park complex will help to strengthen cultural ties between two countries.

As a part of the event, an exhibition of photographs and collections of the poet in different languages was organized, where books of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov were also presented.

At the end of the presentation, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan handed over the copies of the new publication to Ukrainian libraries.
