On May 25-26, 2024, the Embassy of Turkmenistan to the United States and the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the United Nations held a series of cultural and sport events in Washington, DC, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi. On May 25, 2024, a literary evening was held in the Embassy, which gathered representatives of the Turkmen diaspora, diplomats, students and literature fans. The evening began with welcoming words of the Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations A.Ataeva and Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the United States M.Orazov.

Then the presentation of the books of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov «Youth is the support of the Motherland» and «Anau - culture from the depths of millennia», as well as a new collection of poems by the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi was held. The Turkmen students familiarized the participants of the event with the content of these books, noting the importance of these works for the young generation of Turkmenistan. During the event, poems by Magtymguly Fragi were also recited.

At the end of the literary part of the event, a chess tournament took place. Within the framework of the above events, an exhibition was organized to present works by Magtymguly Fragi, other classics of Turkmen literature translated into different languages of the world, as well as exhibits reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, their history and traditions.

On May 26, a mass bike ride was organized in Washington, DC. Participants riding with national symbols through the center of the American capital, demonstrated the importance of international events held within the framework of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi and the desire for a healthy lifestyle on the eve of World Bicycle Day.

The program of events ended with a soccer tournament in the town of McLean (Virginia), in which representatives of the Turkmen diaspora, students and diplomats took part. At the end of the tournament, the winners were presented with memorable gifts.
