The diploma performance "Depression," based on the play "Was-was" by Juma Hudaygulyyev, was presented at the Mollanepes Student Theater. This two-actor play explores a private case from family life.

It is not an easy task for two actors to capture the attention of the audience and keep it for an hour, but the third–year students of the State Institute of Culture's drama directing faculty coped with this without problems. It is noteworthy that Kerim Atayev and Gulshat Pigamova are future directors, but in this performance they are the main actors. And their classmate Ejegyz Rejepova is the director.

The institute's management deemed the production successful and included it in the Student Theater's repertoire. The play's comedic theme contributed to its success. The main character, Sakhetli, was electrocuted while fixing a neighbor's wiring. Though not fatal, it altered his consciousness, making him believe an earthquake was happening and that he was in constant danger.

Tylla patiently endured her husband's quirks, trying to calm him. When Tylla pretended to be ill and lay on the couch, Sakhetli became genuinely frightened and recovered out of concern for his wife.

The story's moral emphasizes a strong, united family where everyone cares for each other and no one is left in trouble. Both actors are already known to theater enthusiasts as directors. Kerim Atayev's production "These Free Butterflies" has been in the A.S. Pushkin State Russian Drama Theater's repertoire for almost a year, while Gulshat Pigamova directed the successful play "This is My Mother!" which was also a great success and earned its place in the Student Theater's repertoire.
