The Art Department of the State Library of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan is working on a series of bibliographic guides titled "Sungat äleminde" (In the World of Art). These guides compile information from book, magazine, and newspaper collections about famous masters of the arts in Turkmenistan, including artists, composers, filmmakers, theater and film actors, and broadcasting announcers.
These guides help readers quickly find information about individuals they are interested in without spending much time. They contain details about the life and creative paths of well-known cultural and art figures, interesting biographical facts, memories from colleagues and students, as well as lists of sheet music and audio recordings by famous domestic composers stored in the department's archives. One such guide, titled "Mikrofon maňa köp zat berdi" (The microphone gave me much), was presented by its compiler, Altyn Charyeva, an employee of the Art Department of the State Library.
This guide is dedicated to the 95th anniversary of People's Artist of Turkmenistan Oguljahan Mamikova, who not only worked successfully on air for many years but also participated in well-known film projects by the famous Turkmen filmmaker Alty Garlyev. She is remembered by audiences for her colorful role as the stepmother of the main character Ayna in the feature film "The Decisive Step," which is considered one of the most successful films by the "Turkmenfilm" studio. Altyn Charyeva provided a detailed explanation of the content and structure of her guide to colleagues and answered questions from library staff who participated in this event.
