In the Kerki etrap of the Lebap velayat was held a ceremonial event dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Honorary Elder of Turkmenistan, the famous writer Osman Odayev.
Writers and poets, literary scholars, cultural, artistic and education workers took part in the celebration held in the etrap House of Culture. The speakers spoke about the life and work of the writer, who left behind 34 works imbued with philosophical ideas and illuminating the cultural and moral values of our glorious ancestors.
The naming of the street by the writer's name in the village where he was born and the school where he studied, as well as the installation of his bust, became a manifestation of great respect on the part of our state for the work of Osman Odayev. During the ceremonial event, excerpts from the destan, created on the writer's novel "Altynjan Hatyn" were read, songs were performed. After the celebration, its participants got acquainted with the exhibits of the house-museum, where the writer's personal library, numbering thousands of books, is located.
