In the Exhibition Center of Fine Arts of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan on New Year's Eve, a long-awaited meeting of professionals and lovers of painting with the works of artists of the Mary velayat took place. The exhibition featured 196 paintings and sculptures occupied both floors of the Exhibition Center.
The Mary school of painting has always been in the avant-garde. Perhaps this was facilitated by the work of People's Artists of Turkmenistan Kossekmurad Nurmuradov and Annadurdi Muradaliev - artists who successfully worked within the framework of personal preference, regardless of any generally recognized priorities. Other artists looked up to them. In this way, the bar of quality was raised.
The State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan annually graduates talented young professionals who make a worthy competition. Therefore, the reporting exhibition is like an exam for a high mark in creativity. Kossekmurad Nurmuradov has once again pleased with his work “Microdistrict”, presenting a high-rise residential building of modern construction, which is so large that from all sides goes beyond the scope of the picture. Painted in different colors, the house looks at the viewer with many “right” and “wrong” windows – an abstraction of construction.
Merdan Paytykov presented his work “Desire” in the style of futurism. In his painting there is an improvised palette with several real brushes attached above it. Someone, or perhaps Merdan himself, really wants to become a good artist.
The artist Glychmurat Gurbanov showed himself as a master of landscape in the paintings “Chaikhana” and “Countrified Landscape”. Jumadurdi Hodzhaniyazov conveyed the intense tension of emotions in the painting “Bakhshi”.
- An artist cannot not exhibit his paintings,” says Annadurdi Muradaliev. - Participation in exhibitions is a holiday for an artist, and if he notices that his works arouse public interest, it is a double holiday.
Annadurdi Muradaliev's works do not remain without interest at exhibitions. A new painting “Girl with a red balloon” has appeared in his exposition.
Of the paintings dedicated to Makhtumkuli Fragi, perhaps the best was the painting "Makhtumkuli" by Govher Khidyrova.
Interesting works are presented by sculptor Muhammetniyaz Ovezaliyev from Mary. One of them is a bust of People's Artist of Turkmenistan Yedi Madatov. The sculptor managed to convey maximum similarity to the appearance of the original in plaster. Another is a sculpture “Embroidery Lesson” where a mother teaches her daughter beautiful national embroidery. The third is “Shepherd's Dog”, in which an Alabai is depicted in a fight with a wolf.
- The exhibition of works by artists of Mary velayat completes the project “Creativity of velayat artists”, says Chari Yazmuradov, Chairman of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan. - The project gave an opportunity to familiarize painting lovers with 1300 works of fine arts. In addition, young artists working in different parts of our country had a real opportunity to exhibit their works to the public and declare their creative “I”. And, perhaps, the most important task of the project is to show what contemporary artists care about.
