The State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan hosted a conference entitled "Folk artisans – masters of artistic creativity", organized by the Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the Secretariat of the National Commission for UNESCO.

The event brought together representatives of the Ministry of Culture and renowned national jewelers who discussed the preservation and development of folk crafts and shared their knowledge and experience with young masters. As part of the conference, an exhibition of national jewelry art was held, which presented jewelry compositions by students of the creative university.

One of the key moments of the event was the awarding of certificates confirming the title “Çeper döredijiligiň halk ussasy” to talented jewelers from different cities and provinces of the country.

Nuryagdi Yagshimuradov, Pro-Rector of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan, noted that jewelry has ancient roots and is one of the oldest types of arts and crafts, reflecting the aesthetic values of the Turkmen people and playing an important role in their culture and traditions. Despite its long history, the profession of a jeweler remains relevant and in demand.

The Academy of Arts trains new specialists in this field. Many graduates become teachers and mentors for young people, passing their knowledge and experience to them. This form of interaction contributes to the preservation of traditions of jewelry art, helping young masters to understand better the subtleties of folk craftsmanship and develop their own creative approach.

The conference became a significant platform for discussing the issues of preservation and popularization of jewelry art as an important part of the cultural heritage of the country. Within the framework of the “Program for the Development of the Cultural Sphere in Turkmenistan for 2020-2025” initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, active work is carrying out to preserve the spiritual and cultural heritage for future generations.

The works of jewelers presented at the conference emphasized the importance of further development and support of this art.
