The respect that the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar, show to our national heritage, Turkmen culture and art, determines the height of the spiritual world of our people. Studying the exemplary creative path of individuals who have made a worthy contribution to the development of our national culture, perpetuating their names, and holding various events dedicated to them contribute to the popularization of Turkmen art.
One of these personalities, who left an indelible mark in the musical art of country, is the Honored Artist of the Turkmen SSR (1964), People's Artist of the USSR, People's Artist of the Turkmen SSR (1975), opera singer Medeniyet Shakhberdieva, who became widely known outside our country as the "Turkmen Nightingale". A solemn ceremony dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the singer, which recently took place in the Kerki city, one of the historical corners of our country, also became a manifestation of high respect for the memory of the artist. The anniversary celebration, held at the Kerki Etrap Cultural Center, gathered fans of the famous singer from all over the country. It is no coincidence that the Kerki city was chosen as the venue for the celebrations dedicated to the singer's birthday. The citizens of etrap are proud that she was born in this ancient city and spent her childhood here. The Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan on UNESCO Affairs, the Hero of Turkmenistan Chinar Rustemova, the head of the department for the study of the intangible cultural heritage of the Ministry of Culture Djemile Gurbanova, also the teachers of the Turkmen State School of Culture and Arts, the Specialized Art Schoolof Lebap velayat, cultural and art workers took part in the solemn event dedicated to the anniversary of the opera singer, who conquered music lovers in such countries as Germany, France, Poland, India, Canada, Sweden. They told about the singer's life path, inextricably linked with the Turkmen national art, her hard work and unique talent. As they noted in the speeches, the contribution of Medeniyet Shahberdiyeva to the musical art of our country is especially great, as she performed not only works created by Turkmen composers, but also songs by famous world composers that have become part of the treasury of world art. The speakers also gratefully recalled that the singer worked at the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Hero of Turkmenistan Maya Kulieva, teaching talented young people the intricacies of opera singing.
Musical performances at the anniversary celebration gave the event a special atmosphere. The testimony of the confident continuation of the famous singer's creative path was the performance by talented singers from Ashgabat and the regions of the country – People's Artists of Turkmenistan Atajan Berdiev, Gozel Ovezova, opera singing masters Leyla Resulova and Gozel Annakhanova of songs by the famous singer Medeniyet Shakhberdiyeva, as well as arias from the operas "Ganly Saka" by Veli Mukhadov and "Shasenem-Garyp" by Dangatar Ovezov and Adrian Shaposhnikov.
The concert was performed by songs of the soloist of the Kerki etrap cultural centre, Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Astanguli Movlamberdiev and others, who were warmly welcomed by the participants of the celebration. The organization of a photo exhibition at the venue of the anniversary celebration, telling about the life and work of Medeniyet Shahberdiyeva, as well as the screening of a video clip with songs performed by the singer, added a special flavor to the event. Throughout the celebration dedicated to the singer's birthday, the guests expressed their gratitude to Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar for the great respect they show to our cultural heritage and famous artists.
