In the National Musical and Drama Theater named after Makhtumkuli summed up the results of the competition of young composers, held in our country organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, Youth organization of Turkmenistan named after Makhtumkuli and UNESCO.

The terms of the competition were previously announced in all velayats of the country. The contest's nominations included songs, choral works, and chamber-instrumental genre pieces on the theme of Makhtumkuli Fragi. The contestants had to submit original songs based on poems by Makhtumkuli or works dedicated to the great poet.

The competition was attended by 9 contestants aged from 13 to 33 years. These are students of music schools, students and graduates of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kulieva.

Honored Artist of Turkmenistan, famous composer Sukhan Tuyliev and UNESCO representatives acquainted the audience in the hall with the results of the competition. Five of the nine contestants received prizes, and all participants were awarded honorary doplomas.

The competition of composers ended with a concert of the contestants. The youngest contestant, Tylla Shirova, a student of Ashgabat City Music School No. 1, was honored with the opening of the concert. Tylla performed two works – "Prayer" based on poems by Makhtumkuli in an arrangement of music for oboe and piano. The oboe part was performed by Akhmat Abaev. Another play performed by Tylla is "Khasar Mountain". For this piece, the young composer received the Gulbaba Prize and became a laureate of two Moscow international competitions.

Begench Moshiev, Aina Seyitkulieva and other famous vocalists took part in the concert, who adorned the works of the contestants with their voices.

"As a member of the jury, I am glad that young composers are actively involved in the cultural and social life of the country,– Sukhan Tuyliev comments on the competition. – I often have to hear: "I thought we didn't have any young composers. And the competition showed that we have them, and everyone has their own style. It really pleases me.

The competition of young composers continues. New conditions have already been announced. The age of the contestants is from 18 to 35 years old. Nominations – songs, choral works, ode. The topic of the essays is random.
