International Women's Day is, first and foremost, a celebration of beauty that unites women from different countries and cultures. During these days, events dedicated to this holiday take place across the country, inspiring change and creating a platform for sharing experiences and ideas.
The creative space of the ART-bazaar in Ashgabat hosted a meeting between talented Turkmen craftswomen and representatives of the diplomatic mission of the People's Republic of China. The main topic of discussion was the national costumes of Turkmenistan and China in their historical and modern context.

Welcoming the guests, Tajigul Gurbanova, leader of the creative community Design Plus under the auspices of UNESCO, conveyed congratulations from Chinar Rustemova, Hero of Turkmenistan, Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO.
Counselor of the Chinese Embassy Zhong Hua made a warm congratulatory speech on International Women's Day. She noted that in friendly and fraternal Turkmenistan, thanks to the wise leadership of the respected President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, significant successes have been achieved in protecting women's rights and strengthening traditional values.
"In the country, favorable conditions have been created for the full self-realization of women, and I always feel the diligence, kindness, wisdom, patience, and resilience of Turkmen women in communication with them. These human qualities make them an inspiring force and a reliable life support for the state and people of Turkmenistan," she emphasized.

Special importance is attached to the preservation and development of the historical and cultural heritage in our country. The successors of the glorious traditions of decorative and applied arts pass on the secrets of creating unique items from generation to generation, enriching the cultural potential.
During the meeting, ethnographer and candidate of historical sciences Ajap Bayriyeva thoroughly acquainted the representatives of the friendly country with the traditional attire of Turkmen women, telling about the subtleties of their creation and wearing rules. Young designers presented modern collections of outfits, in which elements of Turkmen embroidery, ornaments, and patterns are organically intertwined. National jewelry designer Leyla Seyidova also shared the richness of traditional items that our grandmothers proudly wore.

As part of the meeting, a presentation on "The Culture of Traditional Chinese Clothing" was held, prepared by a representative of the Chinese Embassy in Turkmenistan, Li Yuiping. This format allowed for a deeper cultural exchange and demonstrated the richness and diversity of the historical heritage of both countries.
The event held is especially significant in the year declared the International Year of Peace and Trust. Recognition and respect for the cultural heritage of other countries strengthen friendly relations and contribute to creating an atmosphere of peace on the international stage.
