Shagylych Atayev, a graduate of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan in 2018, made a personal exhibition at the Exhibition Center for the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and surprised painting lovers three times.

Firstly, as the youngest hero of the day: Shagylych Ataev is only 35 years old. Secondly, as a very prolific artist: he exhibited 140 paintings. Thirdly, the style of his paintings: he is an impressionist.

One might have been surprised for the fourth time when, during the grand opening of the exhibition, Shagylych Atayev, talking about himself, stated that he was one of the lagging students at the Turkmen State Art College. Looking at his paintings, it was hard to believe.

Recently, Turkmen artists are increasingly revealing their extraordinary talents. And the case of Shagylych Ataev is a confirmation of this. Bright, juicy, emotional landscapes, near which you can stand for hours, as if expecting them to tell a story about themselves. And all because Shagylych Ataev tends to humanize nature.

In the painting "Sunflowers", the flowers are bright yellow, like suns, in summer, in winter they droop in the rain and cold wind. They dry up, remembering the beautiful summer days. And it's hard to get past these "wretches" and not sympathize with them.

Camels behave quite differently in the foothills of Kopetdag, where there are many pasture grasses, and the spring air, inspired by the scent of flowers, intoxicates not only humans, but also the ships of the desert in the painting "Camels". In the landscape of the "Spring Alley", young trees lined up in slender rows like girls in spring, dressed up in delicate foliage.

In mountain landscapes such as "Koitendag", "Gokdere", "The Sun in the Mountains", "Moon Mountains" and others, the artist paints the stone with bright dark cherry strokes, also uses blue and dark brown colors. This gives the mountains a harsh character, emphasizes the grandeur of nature and the organic unity with man

The lyrical plot in the painting "Two mulberry trees" conveys a unique case - the strong embrace of two trees in which they have lived their whole lives. These trees can only be envied.

Shagylych Ataev considers Durdy Bayramov, Izzat Klychev, Stanislav Babikov and the European post-impressionists Vincent Van Gogh and Paul Cezanne to be his teachers. He learned from their work and developed his own handwriting. One of the most attractive paintings at the exhibition is "Still Life with a Book". The painting is painted in the style of Van Gogh. And Van Goghis present in the still life as a Book, as the mentor of Shagylych Ataev.

Ataev Jr. was also present at the grand opening of the exhibition. The toddler, who is a miniature replica of Dad, has organically fitted in among painting lovers - clapping when congratulating his father and viewing paintings as other visitors have done. Anyone who has not yet visited this, without exaggeration, very interesting exhibition, be sure to go to the Exhibition Center to look at our country through the eyes of the talented artist Gylych Ataev.
