On the 2nd of October of this year, the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan opened the exhibition «Pederlerimize hormat», dedicated to Remembrance Day.

The exhibition features works by People's Artist of Turkmenistan Yakup Annanurov «Refugees of Gokdepe», Annamammet Hojanyyazov «Trouble», Yarly Bayramov «Angry News», and Honoured Artist of Turkmenistan Ashyrmuhammet Kulyyev «Prayer», as well as works by artists Kakamyrat Baylyyev «Earthquake», Hoshgeldi Hakberdiyev «Warriors of the Home Front», sculptures by Muhammet Yuzbashev «News» and «Expectation», and other works.

The overall theme of the paintings of artists presented at the exhibition reflects their boundless love for their homeland and tells of the Turkmen people's ability to overcome adversity.

Looking at the works, one feels transported to the nation's distant past. The works of sculptors and artists reflect the most important events in the country's history: the 1881 battle during the siege of Gokdepe Fortress, when our heroes demonstrated exemplary courage and patriotism; the terrible trials of the 1941-1945 war; and the resilience of the people who stood firm and rose again after the devastating Ashgabat earthquake of 1948.

All these paintings faithfully convey the atmosphere of those difficult times. This is the mastery of these artists, who, through their works, once again remind us, the current generation, of the importance of such concepts as honour, patriotism, and love for the Fatherland. The exhibition continues to attract visitors, leaving no one indifferent.
