Celebrations and events at various levels dedicated to the International year of peace and trust are gaining momentum in the Balkan velayat. A competition recently held at the «Türkmeniň ak öýi» building in Balkanabat was one such exciting event.

The Balkan stage of the competition, organised by the Ministry of education of Turkmenistan jointly with the Central Council of the women's Union of Turkmenistan, the National centre of trade unions of Turkmenistan, and the State committee of Turkmenistan for television, radio broadcasting, and cinematography, was distinguished by its rich content and special significance.

Members of exemplary women's circles from secondary schools in the velayat actively participated. In accordance with the competition's terms, they proudly presented their handicrafts and, through figurative language, songs, and ghazals, spoke of the national values and happy life bestowed upon our people in the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state.

During the competition, they also demonstrated their skills in various handicrafts, carpet weaving, and decorating sachaks. Skilled representatives of the younger generation and young talents also delivered engaging presentations on the meaning and methods of cooking dishes, based on the book «Bereketli türkmen saçagy» («Turkmen Destarhan»). The presentation of the merits of national dishes through expressions, proverbs, and ghazals left an unforgettable impression on the participants.

During the competition, the club team from secondary school № 20 in Bereket etrap, Balkan velayat, won first place, earning the right to participate in the national stage of the competition. Second and third places, respectively, went to teams from specialised secondary school № 3 with advanced foreign language studies in Balkanabat and secondary school № 18 in Gyzylarbat etrap.

The winners were presented with Certificates of honour and commemorative gifts at a ceremony.
