As part of the visit of the Turkmen delegation to the UK to participate in the meeting of the Joint Turkmen-British Trade and Industry Council, a meeting was held with the leadership of Coventry University in London.
The talks between the parties focused on issues of expanding academic cooperation, exchange of experience in the field of higher education and the introduction of advanced educational technologies.
Educational programs were presented to the attention of the Turkmen delegates, meeting high international standards. Special attention was paid to innovative approaches to learning, the integration of digital technologies into the educational process, as well as the university's close cooperation with industry and the business sector.
At a meeting with the head of the University's School of Management Coventry Dr. Joanna Vulgaropoulou discussed topics of cooperation in the field of postgraduate education. In particular, the meeting participants considered the possibilities of organizing access for Turkmen students to an international alumni network and educational platform.
A key topic was also the support of international students, including in the field of English language learning and employment assistance through cooperation with major London companies. In addition, representatives of Coventry University offered flexible master's degree programs in the areas of International Marketing, Digital Marketing with Data Analytics, Global Economics, Banking and Finance.
Following the discussions, the parties expressed interest in continuing the dialogue and organizing expert consultations for a detailed study of possible formats of cooperation.
The Turkmen delegation noted the importance of studying international experience in the field of higher education and expressed readiness for further negotiations and exchange of views.
The meeting at Coventry University was a logical step in the development of educational cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Kingdom. Recall that in April 2024, during the visit of the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth and UK Development in Turkmenistan, Education has been identified as one of the key areas of bilateral relations. During the meeting with the distinguished President of Turkmenistan, prospects for partnership in the field of education were discussed, including the development of targeted educational programs and the expansion of English language teaching.
After that, a number of videoconferences and working meetings were held with representatives of British universities, business circles and British Council.
Coventry University is included in the prestigious international rankings of the Times Higher Education and QS Education Ranking, which confirms its high academic status. The university has significant international experience, developing branches in Egypt, Morocco, Poland, Kazakhstan, Algeria and Southeast Asia.
