On April 14 of this year, a three-day interactive seminar began at the Central Library of Turkmenabat. The event was organized as part of a project by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) titled "Enhancing Capacities for Climate-Resilient Water Management."

The seminar was jointly organized with the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia (CAREC) Project Office in Ashgabat, the National Institute of Deserts, Flora and Fauna, the Khakimlik of Lebap velayat, and with participation from FAO representatives Evetta Zenina and Daler Domullodzhanov.

The event was designed for representatives of local administrations, forestry management specialists, members of daikhan associations, leaseholders (a total of 35 participants), as well as instructors promoting practices for developing local plans for land use and agricultural production. The seminar aimed to address issues related to environmental protection and biodiversity conservation.

The seminar agenda included a comprehensive assessment of the impact of climate change on the territory and ecology of Lebap velayat. Participants attended presentations by prominent national analysts in the fields of climatology, geobotany, conservation of agro-biodiversity genetic resources, protection and sustainable use of water and land resources, and ecological modernization of agriculture.

One day of the seminar included a planned excursion to the "Jeýhun" nursery in Charjev etrap under the velayat forestry management department—a division of the Ministry of Environmental Protection.

At the conclusion of the seminar, participants proposed the most promising nature-friendly practices that incorporate adaptive potential. These practices are applicable to conservation efforts, crop cultivation, and livestock farming. They also include elements of precision farming, organic agriculture, and biological farming that are beneficial for both nature and people.
