Poet-singer Garajaoglan

On hot days of summer, Ashgabat residents spend their evenings in numerous parks of the capital. Lagerstroemia’s place under the sun

Gardeners commonly know these plants as crape myrtles, while dendrologists refer to them as Lagerstroemia indica after the Swedish merchant Magnus von Lagerström. Despite its name, the wonderful shrub with a woody trunk originated in China, not in India. Niyazmurad Dovodov - an artist who praises labor and military exploits

In 1935, a 14-year-old young man Niyazmurad Dovodov crossed the threshold of the Turkmen Art College - he had a dream to learn how to play the piano. The huge shiny instrument mesmerized him with its black and white keys, which emitted melodic sounds.
