The «Young rescuers» competition was held at the specialised military school №1 named after Berdimuhamet Annayev. The competition was attended by school students who had passed tests in several applied areas.

Divided into six teams of five people each, the children demonstrated their ability to navigate emergency situations and natural disasters, as well as first aid skills. In critical situations, prompt and competent action is essential to saving lives, making the training of young rescuers particularly important.

The competition was organised and held jointly by the Ashgabat Department of civil defence and rescue works of the Ministry of defence of Turkmenistan, the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan, and the Ashgabat police department. The panel of judges included representatives from the Fire safety department and the Road police supervision department of the Ashgabat city police department, as well as the public organisation «Ýaş tebigatçy» («Young naturalist»).

The holding of such competitions is aimed at the successful implementation of the objectives of the Law of Turkmenistan «On state youth policy» and is carried out in accordance with the «State program for the implementation of the main directions of state policy in the field of civil defence for 2019–2030». The action plan for the implementation of the program includes activities to ensure disaster preparedness, response, mitigation and prevention.

In many ways, the book by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, «Youth - support of the Motherland», serves as a spiritual and life guide for young students, instilling in the younger generation feelings of patriotism, humanism, hard work, and responsibility. The insightful work of the head of state, dedicated to the activities and achievements of Turkmen youth in the socio-economic, cultural, humanitarian, and other spheres, has become an inspiring guide for young men and women on the path to achieving lofty goals in the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state.

Following the competition, the three teams that took top places were awarded certificates of honour and prizes. All participants of the competition were also presented with commemorative gifts from the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan, the Youth organisation of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly, the «Aýdyň Gijeler» company and the public organisation «Ýaş tebigatçy».
